About the Global Entrepreneurship Week

History

The initiative kicked off in 2008, launched by former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown and Carl Schramm, the president and CEO of the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation. Since then, it has grown to 115 countries—with nearly 24,000 partner organizations planning more than 37,000 activities that directly engage more than 7 million people. This year the Global Entrepreneurship Week will be organised for the fourth time in Holland. Although attempts have been made in the past to organise the GEW in Maastricht on a big scale this year for the first time the Global Entrepreneurship Week will be organised big in Maastricht. Join millions of students all over the world and become part of this historical happening in Maastricht!

Our Mission

Our mission is simple. By exposing you to interesting entrepreneurs we allow you to be amazed and therefore to be inspired to become more entrepreneurial! The goal of our conference in to stimulate entrepreneurship and to get you acquinted with different kinds of entrepreneurship practiced by entrepreneurs with a different background. Although we welcome a broad diversity of speakers to our day they have one thing in common; their ambition and passion which goes beyond boundaries. Listen to what the entrepreneurs want to share with you and get inspired!

3MA

The official SBE study association 3MA represents five out of the seven International Business (Economics) study directions at the SBE (School of Business and Economics): Management/Organisation – Marketing – Strategy – Information Management – Supply Chain Management Our main objective is to bridge the gap between theory and practise by bringing students and companies together. Therefore, we organise several academic and career events throughout the year. These professional events are a perfect opportunity for students to show their talent to potential future employers and to experience more of the practical side of their studies. Next to that, 3MA publishes the 3Magazine four times a year. Our magazine informs students and companies about interesting topics concerning the business world. Together with the other SBE study associations 3MA forms the FAME association (‘Faculty Associations Maastricht for Business and Economics’). Further, 3MA is one of the five member associations of the MAN (Marketing Association Netherlands). 3MA organises numerous academic and career events throughout the year where students can get in contact with interesting companies. These events take either place in Maastricht or at the companies’ facilities. Additionally, we organise social events for our active members.
