Maastricht Centre for Entrepreneurship, Maastricht University

The Maastricht Centre for Entrepreneurship (MC4E) at Maastricht University serves students throughout Maastricht University by providing opportunities to learn, by providing start-up support, and by helping young ventures to grow. We offer entrepreneurship education across the university to students at bachelor, master and post-graduate level. We provide inspirational events that allow students to network with international entrepreneurs. We help students to prepare and launch high impact ventures.

Our dedication to foster entrepreneurship through entrepreneurship education is supported by research findings that indicate that: “Entrepreneurship education has a positive impact on the entrepreneurial mindset of young people, their intentions towards entrepreneurship, their employability and finally on their role in society and the economy.” In our view, entrepreneurship education should be offered in combination with events that grow awareness for entrepreneurship as a career option, and with support to those students and alumni that commit to building their first venture.

The Maastricht Centre for Entrepreneurship was created with the support of local entrepreneurs and businesses with the aim to help them explore self-employment as a possibly rewarding career option. The Centre acts as an autonomous “academic venture” within Maastricht University. In our course we take pride of our approach to blending academic rigor with practical value. In all our courses you will not only study books and papers, but also discuss cases and engage in one or more field projects.

Many of the activities of the Maastricht Centre for Entrepreneurship are driven by student initiative: also you can get involved in organising seminars, events, workshops, field trips etc. This can be a great way to build a valuable network with entrepreneurs & investors, but also to meet like-minded students and faculty members. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like to join an organising committee or student board.

The Maastricht Centre for Entrepreneurship operates with its own budget, and reaches out across the whole university. For our activities, we collaborate with faculty members from across the university who bring their scholarly insights on entrepreneurship, business modeling, new business venturing, open innovation, business planning, entrepreneurial finance and venture capital to our events, classes and workshops.

Regardless where you study (e.g. UCM, FHML, FASOS or SBE) you can always attend our events, enroll in our courses, and/or seek our help in launching your entrepreneurial career.
